A little information about hypnosis and our show?

Well read on to get answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQ).

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a normal, naturals state of mind in which people accept suggestions without making critical judgment. Being ‘lost in thought,’ ‘day dreaming’ and ‘highway hypnosis’ are all forms of a light hypnotic state that each of us enter multiple times per day. During a hypnosis stage show, the volunteer is guided to a deeper state of hypnosis during which the hypnotist can make suggestions that will become 100% real to the volunteer.

Who can be hypnotized?

Anyone with an open mind and desire to be hypnotized, a reasonable intelligence and the ability to concentrate can be hypnotized. Some people find it more difficult to reach the deeper levels of hypnosis than others, but this does not mean that they are less capable of being hypnotized. If you concentrate on my suggestions and imagine what I ask you to imagine...you will be hypnotized!

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is a feeling of complete mental and physical relaxation. For many people it feels very similar to the way you feel when you first awaken in the morning. You are still aware of what is going on around you, but are very relaxed and still in a somewhat daydream state.

Can I be made to do things I don’t want to under hypnosis?

No. You will not do anything that violates your own personal code of conduct or your personal beliefs under hypnosis. If a suggestion were made that was offensive or disturbing to the volunteer, the volunteer’s mind would reject it.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?

Absolutely not, it is physically impossible! Even if the hypnotist left the room and failed to bring the volunteer out of hypnosis, after a few minutes of not receiving any more suggestions the volunteer would either wake up on his or her own or, if they were tired, drift off into a relaxing sleep and wake up later.

Can I be hypnotized against my will?

Entering the state of hypnosis requires mutual trust between the volunteer and the hypnotist, so if you do not want to be hypnotized you will not be. If this is the case, we recommend you enjoy the show from the audience.

Can you tell me what will happen at your show?

I will start by doing what we call a pretalk. This talk will explain much of what you have just read and will include a brief explanation of what hypnosis is, the fact that it is a natural state of mind, and what a person can expect if they volunteer for the show. Hypnosis shows are interactive, and I will call for 10-12 volunteers. I will then perform an hypnotic induction which allows me to facilitate and guide the volunteer into the relaxing hypnotic state and deepen their trance to a level that will temporarily change their personalities. Through suggestion, what they imagine becomes their reality. They may even become a famous singer, dancer, or celebrity!

How long is your hypnosis show?

Our show can be tailored to fit your needs, however, most people seem to enjoy our 2 hour show.
